At What Dressage Test Are You Allowed to Start Showing With a Double Bridle?
Are you allowed to show in a double bridle any level, or do you have to get to a certain level first?? Thanks in advance!
You see my horse was trained to the highest levels, and he was trained with a double bridle. He works best in a double bridle. He was neglected and lost all his muscles, but still rides better in a double bridle I on the other hand am still working with him with a single bridle, but really the reaction is not so good. \:

Third level-double brides can be can be a nightmare for a horse in the wrong hands so you have to be at a certain level to compete in one.
ADD: I understand where you’re coming from, I compete in dressage and had something similar a few years ago. Even if he works best in a double bridle it will be better to stick to a single until your trainer feels you are ready. If you are not ready at the moment then using the double bridle could ruin him, I’ve used one for a while now but still find it difficult to co-ordinate the two bits properly.
i you can start showing in it at 3rd level and schooling at 2nd
I think advance-medium is the earliest you can start riding in a double in tests
I only started using a double bridle when I started third level dressage because it’s better when the rider and horse are in sync with the bridle. If you are only a first level or in training I suggest you do not use a double bridle even if you horse is used to the training and such. You are not working it, so start off with a single and work your way up.
